I recently found this documentary, made in 2006, called “Occupation 101″. It’s an up close look at the Palestinian story behind the Israeli occupation of their homeland. It is what the news media doesn’t show. International journalists rarely, if ever, travel into the West Bank and Gaza Strip to talk to the people trapped there. It’s a shocking and brutal world these people are forced to live in. They live without adequate food, water and medical treatment while right next door Jewish children play on green lawns and in swimming pools. The world has turned a blind eye to these 4 million plus people. Why does the US and the world support the Israeli agenda without any questions about their abuses of human rights in the occupied territories? Why should the Palestinian people suffer the loss of their homes, lands, livelihoods because of the atrocities committed by Hitler’s regime in Germany? One lesson we should have learned from the Holocaust of WWII is that we, the world, cannot stand by and watch while entire populations of people are systematically marginalized — first into ghettos and then into flat out genocide. The Zionist movement seems to the the root cause of a LOT of unrest in the Middle East.
